Universal Quick Disconnect Couplings
Fluid connections for AI data center liquid cooling. Explore UQD manual connections, UQDB blind-mate interfaces and NVQD / NVQDB configurations for rack manifolds, server cooling loops and modular assemblies.
Select by flow, pressure drop, mating interface, coolant and seal material. “Universal” is a series designation; it does not mean every coupling is interchangeable.

Match the Connection to Your Cooling Loop
Start with the connection method and available service access, then review hydraulic performance and the exact mating interface.
01 / Manual Connection
Review UQD where the coupling is accessible for connection and maintenance. Confirm release clearance, hose routing, retention and the required connection sequence.
02 / Blind-Mate Interface
Review UQDB for connections made as a module or tray is inserted. Confirm mounting arrangement, radial alignment, insertion force and engagement travel.
03 / Existing Interface
For NVQD / NVQDB or an existing supplier part, send the full part number and drawings. Size alone cannot establish mating compatibility or an approved replacement.
Include required flow, allowable pressure drop, connected and disconnected pressure, temperature, coolant formulation, seal material, end connection and quantity. Qualification should use the selected configuration’s current drawing and test requirements.

From Rack Manifold to Server Cooling Loop
Connection choices follow system layout, service access and coolant requirements.
AI & HPC Servers
Connections between rack distribution, flexible hoses and cold plate assemblies. Review flow demand and pressure drop for the complete supply and return circuit.
Rack Manifolds & Modules
Manual service connections or blind-mate module interfaces. Confirm mounting, alignment, engagement travel and maintenance clearance.
CDU & Hose Assemblies
Review coupling size and end connections with the cooling assembly drawing. Consider hose retention, routing and the permitted isolation procedure.
Water-glycol, dielectric and other engineered coolants require separate material and seal compatibility review. Low fluid-loss figures do not imply zero spillage, and service procedures must be confirmed for the system.
Define Your Qualification Requirements
Include the inspection scope and acceptance criteria in your inquiry.
Materials & Dimensions
Specify the body grade, seal compound, threads, mating dimensions and required material documentation.
Leak & Pressure Tests
Agree the test medium, pressure, temperature and acceptance limits for the selected assembly.
Flow & Service Cycles
Request available flow and pressure-drop data, connection force and cycle requirements for your project.
Universal Quick Disconnect FAQ
What is a Universal Quick Disconnect?
A UQD is a quick connection component used to connect and disconnect liquid cooling lines with controlled fluid loss and air inclusion. Select the exact mating configuration and operating limits for your system.
What is the difference between UQD and UQDB?
UQD refers here to manual connections. UQDB is a blind-mate series for module insertion and connections with limited direct access. Mounting and alignment requirements differ by configuration.
Does “universal” mean all brands are interchangeable?
No. Confirm the exact series, size, mating geometry, engagement method, materials, seals and qualification requirements before approving an alternative supplier’s part.
Which coolant and seal combinations can I request?
The supplied reference lists stainless steel body options and EPDM / FKM seals. Send the coolant formulation and concentration, temperature and pressure for compatibility review; a material name alone does not establish suitability.
How should I use the technical tables?
The tables reproduce the supplied UQD and UQDB reference data. Rated flow depends on test conditions, and burst pressure is not a working-pressure rating. Confirm the current datasheet for the exact configuration.
What should I include in an inquiry?
Send series, size, mating part number or drawing, coolant, operating pressure and temperature, flow and pressure-drop requirements, end connection, quantity and required inspection or qualification scope.
